Everyone has a right to be safe and live a life without abuse and fear
Often it is thought that only women can be abused in domestic relationships but men can also experience this whether that is in a relationship or by family members.
In situations of domestic violence and abuse, some men may feel that they have nowhere to turn to for help or no one to talk to. Sometimes male victims may not realise that they are being abused but family members and friends may pick up on some signs and show them the support that is available.
Support available for men at Panahghar
At Panahghar, we have specialist knowledge and support available in different languages to help everyone who is suffering from domestic abuse including Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic men with IDVA and outreach services. We do not offer refuge for men and our services are separate from the services we offer for women. If you would like a confidential chat, call our helpline on 0800 055 6519. Alternatively, for more specialised information on helping men escape domestic abuse, we recommend visiting the Mens Advice Line.
